Job summary

RJS Resourcing Ltd is recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand-new children's residential home in Harrow, opening soon. You will take overall responsibility for developing a safe, nurturing and high-quality service from the outset.

You will build and lead the staff team, oversee safeguarding, care planning and compliance with Ofsted requirements, and establish strong partnerships with local authorities to ensure positive outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in children's residential care management.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or actively working towards it.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the children's home.
• Work closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure the service is fully compliant.
• Lead, support and develop the staff team.
• Manage staffing rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Provide strong leadership and maintain high standards of care.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk assessments and care planning.
• Manage referrals and ensure appropriate placement matching.
• Build effective relationships with local authorities and multi-agency professionals.

Lead a Brand-New Children's Home from the Beginning

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to join a new children\'s residential provider as they prepare to open their first children\'s home in Harrow.

The organisation has secured a substantial seven-bedroom property, which is expected to provide care for up to four children under the age of 18. The exact registration and specialist needs of the home are still being determined, with the service potentially supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and/or Learning Disabilities (LD).

With an experienced Responsible Individual already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in shaping the home, its culture and the quality of care provided to children and young people.

The provider is also developing a supported living service, with an ambitious vision for the organisation\'s future growth.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful development and operation of the home, ensuring it provides a safe, nurturing and high-quality environment for children.

You will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the children\'s home
• Work closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure the service is fully compliant
• Lead, support and develop the staff team
• Manage staffing rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Provide strong leadership and maintain high standards of care
• Oversee safeguarding, risk assessments and care planning
• Manage referrals and ensure appropriate placement matching
• Build effective relationships with local authorities and multi-agency professionals
• Ensure compliance with the Children\'s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Maintain the home to a high standard of regulatory compliance and readiness
• Prepare for and confidently manage Ofsted inspections
• Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Registered Manager with a strong background in children\'s residential care.

We\'re looking for someone with:

• Ideally 3-5 years\' experience in children\'s residential care management
• Previous Ofsted Registered Manager experience is highly desirable
• Experience working within children\'s homes supporting young people with EBD and/or Learning Disabilities
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or actively working towards it
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children\'s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
• A thorough understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment
• Experience with compliance, risk assessments and care planning
• Knowledge of referrals and placement matching
• Experience of effective multi-agency working
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• The confidence and ability to lead a home through Ofsted inspection
