An opportunity has arisen for the role of Health Care Support Worker to join our Children’s Health service, dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families within South Ayrshire.
You will provide enhanced support and contribute to the high-quality service by assisting the Health Visiting and School Nursing teams. You will have a key role in the integrated early years, children, and families community nursing team, promoting health outcomes for children within the home and community environment. Your work will encompass supporting areas such as Nurturing, Bonding, Attachment, Containment, Communication, Child Safety, Health Promotion, Feeding and Nutrition (including intensive breastfeeding support), and Peep delivery. You will also support the universal Primary 1 screening delivered by the School Nursing service.
The role involves providing targeted support for parents/carers and families identified by the Named Nurse within the specific locality, following care plans using service pathways and protocols, and reporting progress to the Named Nurse.
You will work as part of South Ayrshire’s Children’s Health team to deliver accessible, culturally sensitive, and effective services, responding to families' needs and working in partnership with other care providers and agencies.
Care delivery will be flexible, in home, clinic, and community settings to meet individual needs.
