Job summary

Purosearch Ltd in Castleford is seeking a Deputy Manager for a residential children's home. You will support the Registered Manager in day-to-day management, lead a residential care team, and uphold safeguarding and high standards of care.

You will shape a safe, therapeutic environment, supervise staff, develop staff, ensure Ofsted readiness, and provide role modelling. Requires Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, at least two years' recent residential care experience and 12 months

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience within a residential children's home in the last five years.
• Minimum of 12 months' supervisory experience within a children's residential care setting.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, expectations and best practice.
• Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and complex needs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day management of the children's home.
• Help shape and maintain a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
• Support the development of a positive, child-centred culture across the home.
• Lead, supervise and support the residential care team, promoting high standards of practice.

• Ensure children with EBD, trauma and complex needs receive consistent, high-quality care.
• Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through a therapeutic and person-centred approach.

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications
Sleep-ins: £60 per sleep-in, with an average of 8 sleep-ins per month

• Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager and wider professional network to ensure children receive appropriate support.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the home.

Requirements & Experience

• Minimum of two years' experience within a residential children's home within the last five years.
• Minimum of 12 months' supervisory experience within a children's residential care setting.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
• In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, expectations and best practice.
• Strong understanding of therapeutic and person-centred approaches to childcare.
• Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and complex needs is essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK without restrictions.
• Applicants must be aged 21 or above due to industry regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
