Job summary

Paragon Social Care Limited is seeking compassionate and resilient Support Workers to care for children and young people in local authority care. Responsibilities include providing trauma-informed care, fostering healthy routines, and supporting education and activities.

The role requires driving to transport clients, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and successful DBS clearance. NVQ3 in Residential Care is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• Full UK driver’s licence and access to your own car.
• Patience, empathy and emotional resilience are essential.
• Flexible approach including waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins when required.
• Clear enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one (essential or desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to keep young people safe and supported.
• Build positive relationships and promote healthy routines.
• Prepare meals, support education, and encourage life skills.
• Advocate for the voice of the young person and ensure they feel heard and valued.
• Assist with medical appointments and community activities.
• Use your own vehicle to transport young people when needed.
• Help them move forward with confidence into their next chapter.
