Job summary

Superior Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Children’s Complex Care Assistant to support a 12-year-old boy at his family home in Frant, UK. You will provide 1:1 care, manage clinical tasks and daily engagement, and help him stay connected with activities and the community.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of complex care experience, are confident with manual handling, and are warm, engaging, and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 care, supporting both clinical needs and daily engagement.
  • Follow the client care plan as advised by the Nurse Manager.
  • Engage the child through play, music and Makaton; support access to activities and the community.
  • Move and handle safely; support personal care and relevant clinical interventions.

Job description

At Superior Healthcare, we support children, young people, and adults with complex health needs to live safely and happily at home.

We’re looking for a Children’s Complex Care Assistant to support a 12‑year‑old boy in his family home in Frant. He’s a bright, joyful child who loves music, dancing, humming songs, and using Makaton. He enjoys stories, toys, and is learning to use his power chair and trike.

You’ll support him in a warm, welcoming family environment, including attending church, helping him stay engaged, connected, and reaching his potential. If you’re passionate about meaningful care and making a real difference, this role is for you.

About the Role

You’ll provide dedicated 1:1 care, supporting both clinical needs and daily engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oral suctioning
  • PEG feeding
  • Medication administration
  • Nebuliser support
  • Intermittent catheterisation
  • Bowel care
  • Monitoring respiratory health (e.g. stridor)
  • Manual handling (essential)
  • Engaging through play, music, and Makaton
  • Supporting access to activities and the community
Shifts

Come and join our team to provide support Monday – Friday after school (14:30 – 20:30), along with weekend shifts, including availability on Sundays to attend church.

Flexibility with hours would be appreciated where possible during school holidays, to allow attendance at activities with the family.

Extra local shifts may be available for those with a willingness to travel.

What You’ll Need
  • Complex care skills are preferred, but full training is provided
  • Confidence with manual handling
  • Warm, enthusiastic, engaging personality
  • Female applicants only (client preference)
  • Driver preferred (not essential)
  • UK-based (no visa sponsorship)
Responsibilities
  • To communicate confidently and clearly with clients.
  • To follow the client's care plan, as advised by the Nurse Manager.
  • To prioritise the client's wellbeing and raise any safeguarding concerns.
  • To provide care including personal care, medication administration, moving and handling, and relevant clinical interventions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in supporting complex care clients.
  • Full Right to Work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
  • Full UK driving license not essential, but preferred.
