Job summary

Crystal Care Solutions is seeking a passionate Deputy Care Manager to lead a team in delivering therapeutic care to children and young people in residential homes. You will deputise for the Registered Manager and ensure high standards of safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on staff supervision, rostering, development, and coordinating individual care and therapeutic plans, while promoting a nurturing, inclusive home environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role in residential children’s care.
• 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification.
• Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding.
• Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills.
• Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks in residential care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Leading care practices in the home and deputising for the Registered Manager.
• Overseeing staff supervision, development, and performance.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Working directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
• Planning shifts, allocating resources, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
• Supporting the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans.
• Collaborating with external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
• Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and stable home environment.
