Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced Children’s Care Assistant to work in an SEN all-through School in Evesham on a full-time or part-time basis. You will support pupils aged 3–19 with complex needs, assisting with personal care and learning activities.

The role requires an energetic, proactive individual who can work with other staff and contribute to a nurturing educational environment. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are essential, with daily PAYE payments and opportunities

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar care assistant role.
  • Willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Ability to provide practical assistance with physical needs and learning support.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with complex physical and medical needs and associated communication and learning needs.
  • Assist with day-to-day personal care tasks, mealtimes, toileting, and continence routines.
  • Record and report on care needs to colleagues and safeguarding processes.
  • Collaborate with other staff to promote pupils' independence and skills.

About the Role
  • As a Care Assistant your role will be to help support children with complex physical and medical needs and associated communication and learning needs.
  • You need to be a pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable care assistant to join the team.
  • This position would be to work with children across the primary and secondary age range from ages 3-19.
  • You will support pupils with their day-to-day personal care needs and work alongside other professional staff to further pupils' personal independence and skills.

  • The school caters for pupils with a wide range of diagnoses and special educational needs, including Autism, physical disabilities, moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

About you

To be considered for the role of Children's Care Assistant you will:

  • Provide practical assistance in relation to other identified physical needs e.g. mealtimes, organisation of learning equipment.
  • Recording and reporting on care needs.
  • Assisting pupils in implementing their own personal care programmes during the school day, specifically in relation to practical support for; personal hygiene; toileting and continence training; and eating and drinking.
  • Have experience in a similar role.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
