Job summary

Service Care Solutions, in partnership with a Midlands local authority, seeks an experienced Childcare Solicitor to manage caseloads and provide expert advice on childcare matters. The role involves representing the authority in childcare proceedings and preparing strategic legal documents.

The position offers primarily remote work with attendance for induction, court hearings in Birmingham, and scheduled meetings. Competitive hourly rates apply depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with a current practising certificate or a CILEX professional with family litigation practising rights.
• Demonstrable experience specialising in childcare law within a local authority legal department.
• Strong advocacy, communication and case management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of childcare law matters on behalf of the local authority from start to completion.
• Represent the local authority in childcare proceedings, including attending court hearings in Birmingham as required.
• Prepare legal documents, advise on case strategy and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.

Job description

Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a local authority , based in the Midlands , which is seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join its team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support on childcare matters, helping the authority manage its caseload and meet its statutory responsibilities.

Role: Childcare Solicitor
Location: Midlands
Umbrella Rate: £55 - £60 per hour
PAYE Inc. Rate: £48.16 - £52.51 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of childcare law matters on behalf of the local authority from start to completion.
• Representing the local authority in childcare proceedings, including attending court hearings in Birmingham as required.
• Preparing legal documents, advising on case strategy and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.
