Job summary

CRA Legal is recruiting an Advocate Lawyer to join the Local Authority's Legal Services team in Barnsley on a permanent, hybrid basis. The role requires Higher Rights of Audience and strong Childcare Law experience, handling Family Court and High Court matters on behalf of the Council.

You will manage a varied caseload, advise Social Services on relevant legislation, and contribute to training within the childcare team while deputising for senior lawyers when needed.

Qualifications

• Higher Rights of Audience essential.
• Strong childcare law experience.
• Experience in local authority or private practice advisable.
• Excellent advocacy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Council in Family Court and High Court proceedings.

CRA Consulting are currently recruiting for an experienced Advocate Lawyer to join the Legal Services team of a local authority in Barnsley on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified advocate with Higher Rights of Audience and strong experience in Childcare Law, either from a local authority or private practice background.
The successful candidate will handle a varied and complex caseload, representing the Council in the Family Court and High Court, while also supporting the wider childcare legal team.Key responsibilities:

• Represent the Council in Family Court and High Court proceedings.
• Manage a complex caseload of child protection and care matters.
• Handle matters involving adoption, injury, fatalities and international elements.
• Advise Social Services on relevant legislation and legal issues.
