Job Description

Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Solicitor to join the Public Family Team at our Blackburn, Northgate office.

This is a full-time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am until 5pm. Hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on operational requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Family Solicitor looking for a new challenge to join our award-winning Family Law team, to progress their career and bring their skills and knowledge to a collaborative and professional team. The role involves working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.

Responsibilities include:

1. Dealing with Public Law Family matters including Childcare, care proceedings, child protection, and guardianships
2. Attending court hearings for a variety of family cases
3. Providing legal advice verbally and in writing
4. Communicating with clients, opponents, Courts/Tribunals, and third parties
5. Supporting colleagues and contributing to departmental goals
6. Supervising and mentoring Paralegals
7. Ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards
8. Monitoring financial performance and reporting
9. Participating in continuous improvement and business development activities

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive with approximately 2 years PQE
2. Experience with Childcare matters and court proceedings
3. Knowledge of CCMS and case management
4. Strong client care and communication skills
5. Ability to manage own caseload and deadlines
6. Attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Teamwork and commercial awareness
8. IT proficiency
9. Interest in long-term development

Desirable skills include advocacy experience.
