Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a full-time fixed-term Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) within Specialist Children's Services Neurodevelopmental Waiting List team. Newly qualifying psychologists are welcome.

The post involves working in a multidisciplinary team under supervision, applying clinical criteria to a waiting list, and delivering groups and prescribed interventions with supervision.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Psychology (eligible for GBC).
• Postgraduate MSc in Applied Psychology (Healthcare) for Children and Young People.
• Experience of a range of mental health conditions in children and young people.
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Further training/qualification in an evidence-based psychotherapy other than CBT.
• BPS wider psychological workforce registration.
• Experience of delivering evidence-based psychological therapy groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and treatment recommendations for mild-moderate mental health disorders.
• Utilise a range of assessment measures suitable for children and families.
• Carry a specialist caseload of children and young people.
• Provide formulation and intervention planning with supervision.
• Deliver individual and group interventions with evidence-based approaches.
• Engage in regular supervision with a Clinical Psychologist.
• Communicate findings through written reports and verbal feedback to referrers and agencies.
