Job summary

MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

This role involves supporting children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• In-date PMVA training (or willingness to complete training).

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent emotional support to children experiencing anxiety or distress.
• Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory needs.
• Assist with daily living activities and maintain structured routines.
• Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies.
• Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of care and incidents.
• Promote a safe, nurturing environment tailored to individual needs.
