Job summary

MedGen Healthcare in Weymouth is seeking compassionate Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to support children and young people with complex mental health needs, including Autism and ADHD, in daily life.

You will provide emotional support, help with routines and personal care, and contribute to implementing behaviour plans while maintaining records and safeguarding. The role offers flexible shifts and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant.
• Experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• In-date PMVA training (or willingness to complete training).

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges.
• Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine.
• Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans.
• Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary.
• Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and incidents.
• Promote a safe, nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.
