Qualifications

• Architectural design of software systems and interfaces.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Rust and Python.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and release processes.
• Secure by design approach, supply-chain risk awareness, and safety/standards artifacts.
• MLOps, data provenance, and model behavior outside labs.
• Embedded software, RF interfaces, and device fleet management in constrained environments.
• OSS licensing, IP considerations and supplier incentives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of our most complex software systems.
• Define and drive the software vision, integrating with hardware and systems practice.
• Own the SDLC, testing, CI/CD and release practices.
• Define team structure, recruit and onboard with the People team.
• Ensure secure by design and scalable, reliable delivery across programmes.
• Balance scope and priority changes while protecting team wellbeing.
• Foster a culture of learning and strong technical leadership.
