Job summary

Zurich UK is seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer for UK P&C and Head of UK Risk Change, combining senior risk leadership with transformation to shape the future of UK Risk. Reporting to the UK CRO, you will partner with senior leaders to align risk appetite with strategy and drive data-driven reporting and AI-enabled risk insights across the UK Risk function.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within financial services, insurance or a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of insurance risk management frameworks, governance and regulatory expectations.
• Proven experience providing independent oversight, challenge and advice to senior management and Boards.
• Demonstrable success in leading transformation, change or operating model improvement initiatives.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving outcomes across complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of risk management disciplines, including operational, conduct, strategic and financial risks.
• Experience developing risk reporting, management information and insight-led decision support.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and leading through organisational change.
• Experience working directly with UK regulators and supervisory bodies.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, AI, data analytics and their application within risk management.
• Professional qualification in risk management, actuarial science, finance, accounting or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight across UK P&C, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Lead strategic risk engagement with P&C leadership teams for performance and risk.
• Deliver forward-looking risk insights and thematic analysis for Executive, Board and Risk Committee discussions.
• Lead CRO reporting and management information development with data, analytics and insights.
• Oversee deep dives into key risk themes and priority business areas with independent challenge and recommendations.
• Oversee risk assessments and risk opinions for strategic initiatives and major changes.
• Support identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks across UK P&C.
• Promote a strong risk culture through stakeholder engagement and pragmatic risk advice.
• Ensure effective governance forums and high-quality reporting to executives.
