Job summary

Amberjack is seeking an experienced Head of Product Technology to lead the development, delivery and evolution of its software solutions for the talent market. This strategic, hands-on role blends engineering leadership with commercial focus, guiding architecture, development, QA and partners while advancing AI-enabled innovation.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering and engineering leadership experience.
• Experience managing in-house and outsourced, offshore/nearshore engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle, secure coding and governance.
• Experience scaling engineering capability and improving development maturity.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices and modern engineering tooling.
• Practical experience of AI technologies and AI-assisted development approaches.
• Strong understanding of GDPR, the EU AI Act and security frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, prioritisation and delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end engineering function across internal teams and outsourced technology partners.
• Oversee scalable, secure and reliable software delivery, embedding strong SDLC, quality, governance and performance standards.
• Lead, mentor and develop a blended engineering, architecture and QA function across multiple locations.
• Build accountable supplier relationships and create a collaborative, delivery-focused culture.
• Champion practical use of AI across engineering, operations and product innovation.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions and drive agile delivery.
