Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a strategic leader to Head of Patient Safety & Risk Management. The post holder will ensure the effective delivery of PSIRF, with robust governance and oversight of all patient safety incidents across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Experienced leader with expertise in patient safety, governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of learning responses under PSIRF, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs that drive improvement.
• Oversee end-to-end governance of learning responses and investigations under PSIRF, with proportionate actions and tracked improvements.
• Maintain oversight of staffing and resourcing of the patient safety response function to meet demand.
• Ensure learning outputs are evidence-based and aligned with the PSIRP and safety strategy.
• Integrate learning responses into wider governance, quality improvement systems and action tracking.
• Prepare high-quality reports, assurance papers, dashboards and briefings for boards and committees.
