Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are currently seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) for an innovative, fast-growing EdTech organisation. Our client aims to transform education through evidence-based technology solutions, supporting teachers and students in classrooms across the UK and internationally.

Role Overview:

The COO will serve as the operational backbone of the organisation, leading and managing core functions including Operations (Product and Implementation), Sales & Marketing, and Finance & Administration. The COO will partner closely with the Founder and CEO, enabling a strategic focus on market expansion and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily operational activities across Product, Implementation, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Lead financial planning, manage P&L, and drive informed, data-based business decisions.
  • Champion continuous improvement in operational systems and processes, enhancing efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative and professional culture aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven operational leadership in a scaling environment, ideally within tech-driven or education services companies.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L accountability.
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions (e.g., sales and marketing, Finance, HR, customer service, project management, delivery), knowing how to lead and manage these areas.
  • The ability to operate strategically, experienced in driving organisational and cultural transformation, with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience managing a growth company through a sale is valuable but not essential.

  • Analytical, curious, solution-focused, and highly organized.
  • Confident in challenging norms constructively to drive high performance.

Location:

Hybrid working model (able to travel to London and be home-based) with flexibility as operationally required.
