Role Overview

The COO will support the divisional CEO in managing the Liquidnet division, ensuring seamless operational execution and alignment with strategic goals. This role involves collaboration with the divisional leadership team, overseeing strategic projects, driving the product roadmap, and fostering a high-performance culture.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist the divisional CEO in day-to-day management, ensuring operational efficiency and strategic alignment
  • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate divisional meetings, track and report actions, dependencies, and escalate issues and risks as required
  • Produce informative and concise board reports for Group level Executives and the Board
  • Drive the division’s AI initiatives, ensuring they align with strategic goals
  • Drive the division’s global product roadmap working with business heads to agree prioritisation
  • Guide the division’s business heads, set clear objectives, drive accountability and collaboration, and promote a culture of high performance, and innovation
  • Support staff development through training and mentorship, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and knowledge
  • Manage the division's team of business and product managers
  • Proactively manage divisional culture, encouraging respect, policy compliance, and alignment with company values
  • Champion the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) agenda and Employee Engagement initiatives, driving appropriate communications and actions
  • Implement actions to enhance business performance, address gaps, and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with technology and operations functions to drive excellence, predictability of outcomes, and cost efficiency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Represent the Liquidnet division in committees and forums
  • Identify and develop strategic alliances and partnerships to support business growth and expansion, driving growth through M&A where appropriate
  • Work with the division’s business heads to validate new initiatives and agree on Global and Regional prioritisation
  • Oversee and govern risks within the division, maintaining compliance with the division's risk appetite
  • Accountable for the division's Governance and Oversight Framework, including Management Meetings and Risk, Culture, and Conduct Committees
  • Own the delivery of support functions to the business, ensuring effective delivery and compliance with risk appetite
  • Drive the production of Liquidnet Management Information (MI), collaborating with the divisional CFO
  • Work with business heads to develop budgets and forecasts, managing the cost base within approved budgets

Experience / Competences
Essential

  • An experienced people leader in a fast-paced business
  • Capable of forming trusted and respected relationship with Executive Directors, Global Business CEOs and other SMT members
  • A natural collaborator who works effectively and easily across the network, building and maintaining strong stakeholder support
  • Takes a hands-on approach when required, equally comfortable directing and supporting others to achieve objectives
  • Ability to manage institutional relationships with senior contracts
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, and driven, with a strong personal work ethic to bring positive energy to the team
  • Possesses outstanding commercial acumen and the ability to contribute to major strategic decisions on an ongoing basis (investment, diversification, etc.)
