Job summary

Evotec seeks a visionary VP, Head of Therapeutics Design to lead an in silico therapeutics design capability. You will unify computational chemistry, generative design, and predictive ADMET with real experimental data, guiding decision-making and strategy across multiple modalities including small molecules, peptides, and proteins.

You will build and scale the team, set technical roadmaps, and partner with Strategy & Portfolio and Commercial to translate science into monetizable offerings.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational/medicinal chemistry or related discipline (M.Sc considered with equivalent depth).
• Experience in biotech, pharma, CRO or related environments with significant time in drug discovery design roles.
• Proven track record progressing molecules through discovery with contribution to development candidates or clinical assets.
• Senior leadership at capability level with budget and multi-site team responsibility.
• Established external scientific profile through publications, patents or conferences.
• Fluent business English.

Responsibilities

• Set and own the technical vision for therapeutics design across multiple modalities.
• Own ADMET/Safety as a strategic pillar grounded in real data.
• Ensure design decisions are informed by patient-derived multi-omics and disease context.
• Deliver the unit's contribution to named flagship programmes with aligned roadmaps.
• Industrialise capabilities to scalable, repeatable methods with measurable impact.
• Hire, develop and retain senior scientific talent across sites.
• Support strategic partnerships and asset licensing with evidencing value.
• Act as a senior scientific voice for Evotec therapeutics design in external networks.
• Provide deep expertise in both structure-based and ligand-based design and in predictive modelling.
• Lead cross-site collaboration and executive-level communication.
