Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking an Engineering Governance Lead to provide technical governance and assurance across complex programmes. The role focuses on engineering authority, governance and continuous improvement rather than people management.

The candidate will work with engineering leads, architects, quality and customer stakeholders to ensure alignment with the SEMP, standards and security requirements. On-site Hampshire role.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in systems engineering, engineering architecture or technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern the engineering governance framework across the programme and systems lifecycle.
• Provide technical assurance across requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, validation and release as the Engineering technical-authority at Chief Engineer level.
• Ensure engineering practices align with the SEMP, customer requirements, regulatory standards and security obligations.
• Provide governance and constructive challenge around technical decisions, engineering risks and architectural outcomes.
• Ensure clear traceability from requirements through design and implementation to verification evidence.
• Govern engineering tooling, including Azure DevOps Server, Jira, Confluence and Ansible, ensuring it supports effective engineering delivery and auditability.
• Govern the CI/CD and automated testing capability supporting Agile delivery.
• Support the adoption and maturity of SAFe and Agile engineering practices.
• Drive engineering maturity, continuous improvement and reduction of rework across delivery teams.
• Act as a focal point for engineering governance, assurance and escalation across the programme.
