Job summary

Matchtech Group is recruiting a Chemometrics Technician to join a state-of-the-art R&D facility near Southampton. This role supports cutting-edge analytical chemistry, data science and chemometric methodologies within a dedicated centre of excellence.

You will apply chemometric techniques to challenging projects, process data from GC/LC-MS and other analytics, and contribute to new method development. The 35-hour week is on-site, with a minimum 6-month temporary contract and potential extension,

Qualifications

• Experience with chemometrics, including supervised and unsupervised methods.
• Strong statistical knowledge (ANOVA, hypothesis tests, multivariate analysis).
• Experience analyzing analytical chemistry data (GC/LC-MS).
• Excellent communication of complex results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Apply chemometric techniques to support chemical and sensory assessment projects.
• Process and analyse data from analytical chemistry techniques with quality and compliance.
• Provide analytical chemistry and chemometrics expertise for robust results.
• Assist in the development of new analytical methods.
• Support application of chemometrics across product development and research programs.
• Interpret complex data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in laboratory and analytical functions.
