Job summary

Phillips 66 in the United Kingdom is offering a one-year Industrial Placement for Chemical Engineering students, starting in summer 2027. You will work on real projects alongside experienced engineers, monitoring unit operations and gaining hands-on site experience in the Humber Refinery region near South Killingholme.

You will contribute to day-to-day running and optimisation of process units, collaborating across disciplines, with opportunities to assist maintenance inspections.

Qualifications

• Motivated and proactive engineering student with interest in Process Engineering in energy.
• Working towards a minimum 2:1 in Chemical Engineering; recent grads considered.
• Good engineering/technical knowledge and hands-on experience from industrial placements.
• Notify us about any industrial experience highlighting teamwork, organisation and problem-solving.
• Driving licence required to travel to site locations.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on projects or with experienced Chemical Engineers monitoring unit operations.
• Handle real responsibilities looking after the process unit’s day-to-day running and optimisation.
• Collaborate across disciplines and gain hands-on site experience, including maintenance inspections.
