Job summary

The Opportunity Provider is seeking an experienced Chef Trainer to share culinary expertise with apprentices and help shape the next generation of chefs. You’ll work a mix of home-based and workplace visits, with travel across Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

This hybrid role offers a starting salary from £29,000 plus tax-free bonuses, Monday to Friday, and opportunities for growth through our trainer development programme. A drive for excellence and a passion for mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• GCSE English and maths Level 2 or willingness to achieve.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Ideally a professional culinary qualification.

Responsibilities

• Guide apprentices at all levels, building skills and confidence.
• Support apprentices at Chef Academy with hands-on training.
• Personalise learning plans for each apprentice.
• Demonstrate maths and English within the culinary context.
• Build relationships with employers and report progress.
• Manage admin tasks and use Google Suite.

Are you an experienced chef ready for something new? Join The Opportunity Provider, an award-winning training provider, as a Chef Trainer. Enjoy the rewarding experience of sharing your skills with apprentices and shaping the culinary future. You’ll work Monday to Friday, with a mix of home flexibility and workplace visits, offering a better work-life balance.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Guiding apprentices at all levels, helping them develop their skills and confidence in the kitchen.
• Supporting apprentices at our award-winning Chef Academy. Providing hands‑on training in essential techniques.
• Personalising learning plans to suit each apprentice’s needs, ensuring they have the tools to thrive.
• Demonstrating how functional skills like maths and English fit into the culinary world.
• Building relationships with employers and updating them on their apprentices’ progress.
• Managing administrative tasks and planning effectively using Google Suite and other systems.

A typical week will include at least3 days of travel within your area to visit apprentices, with the rest of your time spent working from home.

What You'll Need to Bring:

• Demonstrable experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• Ideally, a professional culinary qualification.
• Confidence with technology and good organisational skills.
• Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths (or a willingness to achieve this).
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.
