Job summary

The Opportunity Provider is hiring a Chef Trainer to inspire and develop future chefs across Hampshire and Berkshire. You will guide learners, provide hands-on kitchen instruction, and tailor learning plans to individual needs.

The role combines remote work with about three travel days per week within the region. A professional culinary qualification is preferred, along with Level 2 English and maths and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• Ideally a professional culinary qualification.
• Level 2 English and maths (or willingness to achieve).
• Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Guide apprentices at all levels and help develop kitchen skills and confidence.
• Support apprentices at the Chef Academy with hands-on training in essential techniques.
• Personalise learning plans to suit each apprentice’s needs and ensure they have the tools to thrive.
• Show how maths and English fit into the culinary world in practical settings.
• Build relationships with employers and update them on apprentice progress.
• Manage admin tasks and plan using Google Suite and other systems.

Share Your Culinary Expertise and Inspire Future Chefs

Salary: From £29,000 + tax-free bonus | Location: Remote (covering the Hampshire and Berkshire area) | Role: Chef Trainer

What You'll Be Doing:

• Guiding apprentices at all levels, helping them develop their skills and confidence in the kitchen.


• Supporting apprentices at our award-winning Chef Academy. Providing hands-on training in essential techniques.


• Personalising learning plans to suit each apprentice’s needs, ensuring they have the tools to thrive.


• Demonstrating how functional skills like maths and English fit into the culinary world.


• Building relationships with employers and updating them on their apprentices’ progress.


• Managing administrative tasks and planning effectively using Google Suite and other systems.

A typical week will include around 3 days of travel within your area to visit apprentices, with the rest of your time spent working from home.

What You'll Need to Bring:

• Demonstrable experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager.


• Ideally, a professional culinary qualification.


• Confidence with technology and good organisational skills.


• Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths (or a willingness to achieve this).


• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.
