Job summary

The Park View is seeking an experienced chef to join our Worthing kitchen. Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef when needed, you will ensure the highest standards of quality and hygiene while leading the team on a busy kitchen floor.

You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, staff guidance, hands-on cooking, inventory oversight, and maintaining presentation quality to delight diners.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day Kitchen Operations: coordinates tasks, ensures smooth workflow and high standards of quality, taste and presentation.
• Training and Managing Staff: guides and supports staff to follow food safety and hygiene standards and maintain consistency in prep.
• Food Preparation and Cooking: participates in cooking and prepares complex dishes, sauces and garnishes to perfection.
• Inventory Management: monitors stock, orders ingredients, stores items properly and controls costs and waste.
• Quality Control and Presentation: ensures dishes meet quality standards and are visually appealing, with correct portions and plating.
• Maintaining Hygiene and Safety Standards: enforces regulations, sanitation practices and kitchen cleanliness.
• Handling Pressure and Problem Solving: works well under pressure, multitasks and resolves issues quickly during busy periods.
