Job summary

Medirest, part of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking an ambitious Chef to join our healthcare catering team on a full-time contract (~37.5 hours/week). You will prepare high-quality meals, manage menus, and lead a kitchen team, while delivering outstanding service to clients and customers.

You'll contribute to menu development, respond to feedback, and uphold safety and hygiene standards. A City & Guilds NVQ or equivalent and a Food Hygiene certificate are required. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.
• Flexible approach to working.

Responsibilities

• Preparing high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and creative concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning and hygiene responsibilities.
• Ensuring compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
