Sodexo at MOD Worthy Down, near Winchester, is recruiting a Junior Ranks Chef to prepare and serve meals for military personnel in a busy kitchen.

You’ll work with a dedicated team, uphold top hygiene standards, and support events to deliver a high-quality catering experience daily. Training and career progression within a large organisation are available, with employee benefits and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Professional chef experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
• Recognised culinary qualifications, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 2/3.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
• Passion for cooking and delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
• Previous experience in military or government catering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals in a busy kitchen environment.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards, complying with EHO requirements.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Prepare and serve meals for military personnel, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen, following all sanitation procedures.
• Support special functions and events, helping to deliver a high-quality catering experience.
• Carry out bulk cooking while maintaining consistency, quality and portion control.
