Job summary

Kings College Taunton is hiring a Chef de Partie through Sodexo to join a busy kitchen serving around 1,000 meals daily on a rural campus near Taunton.

You will prepare and cook high‑quality dishes, support the Head Chef during peak service, check deliveries, manage stock, and maintain food safety and hygiene standards while working 5 days out of 7 in a fast‑paced school catering environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
• Experience in school or contract catering is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS check will be completed for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, ensuring meals meet standards.
• Support Head Chef during busy service and stock management.
• Receive deliveries, store ingredients, and rotate stock using FIFO.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety to company and legal standards.
• Assist with school events and functions as needed.
• Provide friendly service to students, staff and visitors.
• Contribute to menu ideas and cost-control practices.
