Qualifications

Job description

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: 17.00

Hours: 40 per week

A co-educational independent day school for 4-11 year olds in Balham, London, catering for about 500 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of AM snack, Lunch, PM snack, and Hospitality & events at this location. This is a term-time-only contract working Monday to Friday. The school benefits from excellent transport links.

We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in London.

You should have previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients and regularly changing bespoke menus. Creativity and skill showcase are encouraged.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team of chefs to provide catering services to pupils and teachers.
  • Prepare food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch, and adhering to brand standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food standards and control wastage.
  • Follow all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.

Skills required:

  • Genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Passion and innovation for great food.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of food costs and wastage.
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
  • Experience in customer service or food preparation environment is preferred.
