Job description

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: 30000
Hours: 40 per week

A co-educational independent day and boarding school in Banbury, Oxfordshire, catering for 500 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of breakfast club, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, after school club, and supper. The position involves some daily hospitality and is a term-time-only contract working 39 weeks. This is a Monday to Friday operation. Additional benefits include free on-site parking.

We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Banbury.

You should have previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients and regularly changing bespoke menus. Creativity and the opportunity to showcase your skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work effectively as part of a team of chefs providing catering services to pupils and teachers.
  • Prepare food using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch, and following company brand standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food standards and control wastage.
  • Follow all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures.

Required skills:

  • A genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong team player with innovation and passion for great food.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of food cost and wastage management.
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
  • Experience in customer-facing or food preparation environments is preferred.
