Job summary

The Shrubbery Nursing Home, part of Clarendon Care Group Ltd, is seeking a Chef/Cook to join our friendly team in the Midlands. You will prepare wholesome, nutritious meals for residents, following a four weekly rotating menu and accommodating dietary needs with care and empathy.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 (or higher) food hygiene certificate.
• Healthcare experience not essential but preferred.
• Ability to follow four weekly rotating menus.

Responsibilities

• Provide wholesome, nutritious meals following a four weekly rotating menu.
• Cater for dietary requirements (IDDSI, religious, diabetes, etc.).
• Maintain temperature records and cleaning rotas, and follow food safety rules.
• Minimise waste and adhere to company policies.
• Supervise kitchen assistants and manage stock.
• Keep kitchen area clean and tidy.

Job description

The Shrubbery Nursing Home is looking for a CHEF/COOK to join our friendly and dedicated team who share our company values and commitment to our residents that call The Shrubbery 'Home'.

Do you have what it takes to be a Chef/Cook in our home:

• Passion for producing high quality meals from fresh ingredients.
• Share our commitment to provide the quality of care that our residents deserve?
• Little things can make a big difference to our residents, so home baked cakes and biscuits are cooked every day, and wherever possible all desserts are cooked in the home.
• Experience in healthcare is not essential but is preferred, training will be given.

As a Chef, some of your daily duties will be:

• To provide wholesome, nutritious meals for our residents following a four weekly rotating menu
• Cater for special dietary requirements, such as modified texture meals following the IDDSI framework, Religious preferences, fortification, diabetes, and other needs.
• All temperature records are kept up to date along with cleaning rotas and all food safety requirements
• Minimise waste and adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
• Supervise kitchen assistants, order stock/ manage kitchen,
• Ensure that the kitchen area is always kept clean and tidy,

We will support you in every step of your duties by providing ongoing training and career development.

We ask that you have experience in a similar environment, hold a food hygiene certificate (Level 2 & above or similar), have understanding of Safer Foods Better Business, have experience of varying dietary requirements, show empathy towards our elderly residents and want to progress your career within this rewarding environment.
