Clarendon Care Services Ltd is seeking a caring Cook for St Johns Nursing Home in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. You'll prepare nourishing meals, follow dietary plans and contribute to a warm dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Practical cooking experience in a professional kitchen.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Experience supporting older people in a care setting is welcome.
• Confidence in preparing and presenting meals for residents.
• Knowledge of allergens and safe food handling procedures.
• Ability to adapt meals to individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to stay calm during busy services.
• Clear communication and a caring, respectful manner with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a variety of nutritious meals, snacks and refreshments.
• Follow residents' dietary plans, including allergies, special diets and texture requirements, with guidance from the care team.
• Listen to residents' preferences and help make mealtimes enjoyable.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and safe food storage.
• Help manage stock, rotate supplies and minimise food waste.
• Keep required kitchen records and work with colleagues to deliver a smooth meal service.

Your role

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Contracted hours: To be confirmed

Location: St Johns Street, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B61 8QT

Working with the kitchen and care teams, you'll prepare and cook appealing meals that meet residents' individual needs and preferences. You will:
