Qualifications

As a Chef at Sodexo in Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital, Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh SO53 2DW, you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience.You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards.If you’re passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a purpose-driven team — this is the role for you. What you’ll do:

Prepare and serve food according to pre-agreed specifications from Drive.

Perform pre-service checks of the kitchen (2 hours before service) including starters, soups, mains, desserts, cheese boards, and post-op foods.

Ensure all food items for service are present and portion-controlled as per Head Chef's instructions.

Use kitchen equipment and utensils correctly.

Maintain the quality of food prep, production, and presentation within the hospital.

Adhere to agreed standards set by the Unit Business Manager and Head Chef.

Keep preparation areas clear and tidy at all times.

Maintain a presentable appearance in both kitchens and public areas.

Complete post-service cleardown duties.

Attend all necessary training sessions.

Ensure food is hot and well presented.

Serve all food on time to the Pantry Kitchen.

Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations at all times and complete regulation forms.

Minimize food wastage.

Return all foodstuffs to the production kitchen.

Clock in and out using Kronos at the start and end of each shift.

Adhere to company procedures set by Sodexo.

What you bring:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a chef
  • Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for cooking
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy kitchen
  • Clear, respectful communication and a strong team spirit
