Job summary

Kellan Group (including all of our brands, Berkeley Scott, RK and Quantica) is seeking an Education Chef in Cambridge to prepare and cook nutritious meals for students and staff in a school kitchen. This temporary role follows term-time hours with weekly pay and weekends off, offering flexibility and potential for long-term placements.

Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and DBS clearance are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef – preferably in a school or similar environment.
  • Right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available for these roles.
  • Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willing to obtain is essential.
  • Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • A passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people.
  • Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, as well as additional compliance training, will be provided free of charge.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff.
  • Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste.
  • Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service.
  • Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations.
