Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment is sourcing Education Chefs for school kitchens in the Cambridge area. Roles are term-time with weekday hours and a focus on work-life balance. Opportunities for long-term or permanent placements may arise, with competitive pay and weekly wages.

• Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens; compliance training provided free of charge

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
• Plan menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen cleanliness
• Manage stock, ordering supplies, and minimise waste
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants during service and ensure compliance

What You'll Be Doing as an Education Chef

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
• Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
• Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
• Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service
• Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations

What We Are Looking For In Our Education Chefs

• Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef - preferably in a school or similar environment
