Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment is seeking experienced Education Chefs for term-time roles across Tonbridge schools in partnership with Impact Food Group. Roles offer weekday schedules with weekends off and competitive, weekly pay, starting in September.

There is potential for long-term or permanent placements, plus opportunities for extra work during holidays. Applicants should have at least 6 months as a senior Chef, DBS clearance, and a passion for healthy school meals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a senior Chef, preferably in a school or similar setting.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent communication and reliability; passion for healthy school meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff.
• Plan menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage stock, order supplies, and minimise waste.
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants during service.
• Adhere to all food safety and health & safety regulations.

These education-based positions offer term-time hours, providing a consistent weekday schedule with weekends off. What You’ll Be Doing as an Education Chef

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff

What We Are Looking For In Our Education Chefs

• Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef – preferably in a school or similar environment
• Right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available for these roles
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willing to obtain is essential
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential
• A passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, as well as additional compliance training, is essential and will be provided free of charge for all applicants
