Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Chef at a Ministry of Defence site. You will support the smooth running of a busy kitchen, prepare and present meals, and ensure food safety and hygiene guidelines are followed.

You'll work with a friendly team in a professional kitchen, contributing ideas, and developing your catering skills in a genuine, purpose-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Basic IT skills and confidence using everyday computer systems.
• Experience with menu preparation and the confidence to contribute ideas and suggestions.
• Experience of bulk cooking and preparing food for larger numbers.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of the kitchen, including food preparation, service and general kitchen duties.
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and EHO guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant kitchen.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver friendly, efficient and excellent service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring all kitchen sanitation procedures are followed.
• Help keep the kitchen organised, efficient and running smoothly throughout service.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering is desirable, or previous experience working in a busy professional kitchen.

• Due to security requirements, you must have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
