Job summary

Academics Rochester is assisting a forward-thinking primary school in Chatham, Kent to recruit an HLTA or Unqualified Teacher for a fixed-term contract starting September 2026. The role covers classes across Key Stage 1 and 2, with opportunities to lead whole-class teaching and to support smaller groups in core subjects, while safeguarding students and working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification required.
• At least 6 months' experience in class cover.
• Proactive, approachable and encouraging with students.
• Commitment to safeguarding students in line with school policy.

Responsibilities

• Cover classes across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Lead whole class teaching when required.
• Support smaller groups in core subjects.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
