Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure is seeking a Chartered Senior Technical Manager to lead temporary works across highways and regional civil engineering projects in the UK. This senior role combines technical leadership, design review and people development, with delivery across tender through to site execution.

Flexible based in England with regular travel; hybrid working: 3 days office/site, 2 days home-based. You will mentor engineers and shape engineering governance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (ICE or IStructE).
• Extensive civil/highways construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of temporary works design and assurance.
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership across highways and regional projects.
• Review, approve and challenge temporary works solutions.
• Mentor Temporary Works Coordinators and junior engineers.
• Support tender submissions and project delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, designers and supply chain partners.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement.
