Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure is seeking a Chartered Senior Technical Manager to provide technical leadership across highways and regional civil engineering projects in the UK. The role blends office and site work with travel across the country, focusing on safe, buildable and commercially effective temporary works solutions.

You will review engineering solutions, support risk management, and mentor a team of engineers while contributing to governance and delivery strategy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructE.
• Significant civil/construction sector experience.
• Strong temp works design knowledge and review capabilities.
• Understanding of buildability, sequencing and risk management.
• Experience delivering projects and practical engineering solutions.
• Ability to coach and develop engineers at different career stages.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across highways and civil projects.
• Develop and challenge temporary works solutions and methods.
• Act as technical authority for complex engineering challenges.
• Carry out design checks and risk-based technical reviews.
• Support technical governance, assurance and tender inputs.
• Mentor Temporary Works teams and engineers.
• Lead a small team and grow engineering capability.
