The Vacancy

Want to join a leading international, independent real estate consultancy with an altogether different approach? We are looking for an experienced, efficient, and enthusiastic Chartered or Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join us after another fantastic year across our real estate sectors. Due to exponential growth, we need a strong and driven Chartered/Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to deliver on a wide range of building consultancy instructions. As a result of an influx of demand for their building surveying services, Hollis wants to continue expanding our surveying team and support the growth of our Scotland offices. We are keen to hear from motivated candidates who will be able to 'hit the ground running' and integrate with our current team of talented surveyors.

The key responsibilities for the role:

  • Delivering a broad range of building surveying services including dilapidations, schedules of condition, building defects, technical due diligence, and project management.
  • Take ownership of service workload and gain project lead status in the near future.
  • Support with end-to-end business development opportunities and provide excellent service to clients to support their needs.
  • Help develop and mentor junior surveyors in the team and develop and grow the service within Hollis.
  • In due course, support Directors in the delivery of client growth plans and line management of graduate/apprentice surveyors.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications required:

  • BSc (Hons) in building surveying.
  • MRICS with 1-2 years PQE.
  • Proficient with all key Microsoft applications.
  • Experienced with commercial real estate sectors such as retail, office, and industrial.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, keen to develop your own career and Hollis' service offering.
  • Must be client-facing and be able to establish/grow a client base and generate own revenue as career progresses.
