Job summary

TED Recruitment is seeking a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager (MRICS) to join their SE London / Kent borders office. Projects include high-value residential builds with cladding remediation, plus education, healthcare and commercial schemes.

You will handle pre- and post-contract work, cost control, procurement, tendering and financial reporting, with strong contract administration and excellent communication skills; experience with JCT contracts is essential, and rapid promotion

Qualifications

• MRICS Quantity Surveyor or PM with cost management experience.
• Experience at a consulting/PQS firm.
• Experience in cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering.
• Able to perform pre- and post-contract work.
• Familiar with JCT contracts.
• Strong meeting minutes and administration skills.
• Keen to mix quantity surveying and project management.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Job description

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is from recently MRICS qualified to join them in their office in SE London / Kent borders area.

Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You will either be an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

You must have experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.

You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

You must be able to do both pre and post contract work.

You should have used JCT contracts.

You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.

You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is in the region of £50000 to £65000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
