Job summary

TED Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Chartered Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager in the Birmingham area. You will work on high-value cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings and a mix of residential, education, healthcare and commercial schemes.

You must have MRICS status or be a recently qualified MRICS and possess strong cost management, contract administration, procurement and tendering experience, with robust financial reporting across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager with cost management experience.
• Experience with cost control, contract administration and procurement on large projects.
• Familiar with JCT contracts and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ability to perform pre- and post-contract duties and to organise meetings (minutes etc.).
• Excellent written and spoken communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost management and financial reporting across projects.
• Manage pre- and post-contract activities and administration.
• Procurement and tendering for residential, education, healthcare and commercial schemes.
• Prepare and issue meeting minutes and coordinate client/stakeholder communications.
• Support mixed QS/PM duties and rapid promotion prospects.

Job description

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is from recently MRICS qualified to join them in their office in Birmingham area.

Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You will either be an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

You must have experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.

You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

You must be able to do both pre and post contract work.

You should have used JCT contracts.

You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.

You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.
