Job summary

Hewson Consulting Engineers Ltd in Guildford is seeking a Senior Engineer with a passion for bridge and civil structures design to join our busy office, delivering UK and international projects.

You will have at least three years post-graduate experience, be near or chartered (CEng), and proficient in Eurocodes. The role involves design, detailing, and supervision of BIM/CAD staff to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience in bridge or civil structures design
• Chartered status (CEng) or near chartered with a relevant professional institution
• Experience of design and detailing in steel and concrete to Eurocodes and/or other international standards
• Experience in the use of computer software for the analysis of structures (MIDAS Civil preferred)
• Experience in the production of design deliverables – drawings, specifications, etc.
• Ability to work on your own and within a team to meet project, client, company and personal objectives
• Some experience in the supervision of other engineers and BIM/CAD technicians
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Self-awareness of the limitations of your own knowledge/experience and when to seek advice
• Creative and thoughtful attitude to cost effective designs and innovative solutions
• Awareness of the importance of costs and meeting deadlines and budget

We are seeking Senior Engineers with a passion for the design of bridges and other civil engineering structures to work in our busy Guildford office where we are engaged on a variety of interesting UK and international projects.

You will have:

• Minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience in bridge or civil structures design
• Chartered status (CEng) or be near chartered with a relevant professional institution
• Experience of design and detailing in steel and concrete to Eurocodes and/or other international standards
• Experience in the use of computer software for the analysis of structures (experience in MIDAS Civil preferred)
