Job summary

BTG Eddisons is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy team in Milton Keynes. The MRICS-qualified surveyor will work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, education and public-sector properties, delivering professional and project-based surveying services.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or be working towards final APC assessment.
• Degree-qualified in Building Surveying or a related RICS-accredited discipline.
• Strong experience delivering professional Building Surveying services within a commercial environment.
• Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery.
• Experience undertaking building surveys, defect analysis and preparing technical reports.
• Understanding of dilapidations, schedules of condition and maintenance advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Delivering a range of professional Building Surveying instructions across commercial property portfolios.
• Undertaking building surveys and preparing comprehensive, client-focused reports.
• Providing technical advice on building defects, maintenance, repair and refurbishment matters.
• Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and construction projects.
• Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
• Managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Undertaking schedules of condition, dilapidations assessments and negotiations.
• Carrying out reinstatement cost assessments and planned maintenance surveys.
• Supervising works on site and attending progress meetings.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services.
• Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior team members where appropriate.
