Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall in Sheffield is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a client-focused team delivering core surveying services across varied property projects. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to manage multi-disciplinary teams on live sites, from brief to occupation.

The ideal candidate will have a building surveying qualification (MRICS preferred), strong technical delivery, and proven experience in project management, with a focus on value for money and

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline.
  • Ideally MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body.
  • Strong technical delivery experience.
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner.
  • Excellent specification writing skills.
  • Good knowledge of JCT Contracts.
  • Track record in project management from inception to completion.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Client facing with high standard of technical delivery.
  • Able to build long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Client relationship management and reporting to Partners
  • To ensure business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • Carrying out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies
  • Take personal accountability for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
  • Management and preparation of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post-handover
  • Ensuring business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • Preparation of various programmes, surveys and reports
  • Managing multiple projects on ‘LIVE’ operational sites
  • Assistance with the preparation of contract documents
  • Management of multi-disciplinary project teamsAdministering building contracts
  • Managing the design, H&S and commercial process
  • Full ownership from project brief to final completion and occupation
  • Undertaking asset management surveys and planned maintenance inspections

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a Chartered Building Surveyorjoin our client focused team on various projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated candidate to join and strengthen our team, providing all core surveying services on a number of interesting areas of property.

Role Responsibilities

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline

  • Previously employed by a consultancy
  • Experience working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
