Job summary

Willen Hospice is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for its Oxley Park shop on a fixed-term basis of 9 months. You will support the Shop Manager in daily operations, supervise volunteers, manage rotas, and drive sales while maintaining strong customer service.

The role requires retail experience, leadership ability, and a flexible approach to weekend work and covering nearby shops. You will help promote the charity’s values and fundraising initiatives within the local community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment with supervisory duties.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to lead and motivate volunteers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily shop operation to meet sales targets and KPIs.
• Support stock processing, pricing, merchandising and store presentation.
• Maintain high standards of customer service at all times.
• Supervise volunteers including recruitment, training and coordination.
• Manage rotas and delegate tasks with Shop Manager.
• Handle cash, banking and records following charity procedures.
• Act as key holder for opening/closing and cover in Manager’s absence.
• Ensure health, safety and security policies are followed.
