Willen Hospice in Wolverton is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager in the daily operation of our Oxley Park shop for a fixed term of 9 months. You will inspire volunteers and customers alike and help drive sales in a community-focused charity shop.

The role involves supervising volunteers, managing rotas, handling cash and stock, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring adherence to health and safety policies in a busy retail environment.

Competenze

• Experience in a retail environment with supervisory or team leader duties.
• Friendly, approachable and able to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Organised with confidence handling money, stock and shop operations.
• Flexible to work weekends and cover shifts, including in other nearby shops.
• Commitment to the values and mission of the charity sector.

Mansioni

• Support daily operation and performance of the shop to meet sales targets and KPIs.
• Assist with stock processing, pricing, merchandising and maintaining a clean, well-presented retail space.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service at all times.
• Support and supervise a team of volunteers, helping with recruitment, training and coordination.
• Manage rotas and delegate daily tasks in collaboration with the Shop Manager.
• Handle cash, banking and financial records in line with charity procedures.
• Act as a key holder, opening/closing the shop and overseeing operations in the Manager's absence.
• Ensure the shop complies with health, safety and security policies.
• Promote the charity's values and fundraising initiatives locally.
