Job summary

Willen Hospice is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for their Oxley Park shop on a fixed-term basis of 9 months. You will support daily shop operations, drive sales, supervise volunteers and ensure exceptional customer service in a busy charity retail setting.

You will assist with stock processing, pricing, merchandising, rotas, and financial records, while upholding health, safety and shop policies. Flexibility to cover shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role (within charity or high-street retail is a plus).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organised and confident handling money, stock, and shop operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily operation and performance of the shop to meet sales targets and KPIs.
• Support stock processing, pricing, merchandising and maintaining a clean, well-presented retail space.
• Lead and supervise volunteers, including recruitment, training and coordination.
• Manage rotas and delegate daily tasks with the Shop Manager.
• Handle cash, banking and financial records following charity procedures.
